Motorists in Argentina couldn’t believe their eyes when at first they thought they were heading towards a tornado and it turned out to something else entirely.
Yes, the video filmed by a person driving his car in Buenos Aires showed a dark tornado-like formation which was actually a massive swarm of mosquitoes.
The person filming the mosquito tornado can be heard saying: “It’s getting bigger and bigger, I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.”
Here the footage from Twitter if the Youtube one disappears:

The enormous tower-like shape appears to stand hundreds of feet tall, but upon closer inspection, the entire structure is made up of mosquitoes.
Probably millions of mosquitoes swarmed together to form the twister in the sky after consistent heavy rains in the region.
A researcher at the Centre for Parasitological and Vector Studies (CEPAVE) told local media: ‘Heavy rains caused flooding resulting in large pools of stagnant water where female mosquitoes lay their eggs.‘
Multiple mosquito tornadoes were sighted in Kamchatka Peninsula last summer. Millions of blood-suckers again! In 2018, an insect tornado also engulfed a small town in Iowa, USA. Finally, in 2014, Lisbon, Portugal, was hit by a locust tornado.
