What is the source of the mystery booms and shakings in the Port Angeles area?
Well, it remains a mystery!
Loud booms vibrated the floor and rattled windows, but officials are not finding anything!
Several who reported hearing the booms said the sounds seemed to be coming from the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
BUT, the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy have not taken part in any activity that could produce loud booms in the Strait on Wednesday or have knowledge of any events on the Strait that could explain the explosions.
The first report had been placed at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 by a resident living east of Port Angeles, who reported several loud booms. At the same time, another witness reported two booms in west Port Angeles.
