A rare striped or wave-like cloud formation has been spotted in the skies over Russellville, Florence, and other areas in the Shoals, Alabama.
These strange rippled clouds are known as “cloud streets” or convective roll clouds. Odd!
They tend to form in patches and are parallel in formation.
Despite the many names, both scientific and not, clouds like the ones seen in the Tennessee Valley Sunday are seen ahead of an approaching system that is capable of producing precipitation.
Rain is expected in the forecast in the overnight hours Monday, though no severe weather is expected.
