These lenticular clouds over Texas look like coming right out from an apocalyptic movie!
Watch these amazing pictures of lenticular clouds floating in the sky of Robertson and Leon Counties in Texas after severe weather moved through the area on Monday, May 25, 2015.
These clouds are most common over mountains where air is pushed upward and cooled to form a cloud.
In this Texas case, though, the cold front left behind a cold pool of air that worked like a mountain, forcing the nearly-saturated air upward and forming these clouds which are shaped by shear still in the air.
And this roll cloud appeared in Kansas three days ago! WOW!
These lenticular cloud pictures are just awesome!
